Sound Quality
Do you ever have complaints regarding your listening or performance space, like the following?
“I can’t understand what the speaker is saying.”
“The singers’ voices are lost in the music.”
“What is that annoying buzzing sound?”
“Why is there a hissing sound when they speak?”
“I get a headache from straining to understand what is being said.”
“The sound is just too loud in here.”
In our experience, we have found that the major culprits for these kinds of complaints are low audio fidelity and a marked reduction in the ease of listening.
Low audio fidelity results from improperly adjusted or poorly operating microphones, amplifiers, mixers, etc. This situation can oftentimes be addressed through simple corrections to and/or improvements in the sound system operation or its components.
Ease of listening problems, on the other hand, are more often a result of noise and echoes that corrupt the desired audio at the listener’s ear. We have successfully addressed such interference by the re-positioning of equipment and by the judicious employment of acoustical treatment.
